Had to go on a family holiday and my blog got put on the back burner. However, I managed to log in a few times, and set my team for this beauty of a result:
Boltz Utd 8 – 0 Deportivo Cobb
Hit 219 Hatstats, which easily could have happened if I didnt get an injury to one of my key defenders. And not just a small injury but a +6 to a 29 year old. I was going to sell him, but instead I have decided to hire a load of doctors and try and get him fit before the beginning of next season - so what if supporter mood drops - its the off season!
This weekend, I will be fielding the reserves to ensure that I can keep from there being any more injuries to the key old boys!
I also have to rebuild my YA I am getting very relaxed with it and as a result I am not getting any decent pulls out of it like I have in the past.
Its training time tonight, and I am hoping for my 1st keeper pop!
My world of Hattrick and Betting online. I don't bet big amounts but I do love a flutter.

Away match Vs Danglies
So, we played Danglies this weekend, and I must say I think I got it pretty much spot on for tactics.
Yea, so I smashed them on Hatstats, and I knew that would be the case anyway, but the key to winning HT matches is to win midfield (unless you are playing CA), and I just knew I wouldnt be able to win midfield, not with my furious TS.
So, I studied them a bit, and came up with defending my wings as he always plays AOW, so I set myself up with a 3-4-3 formation, with 2 WBs playing defensively.
I then stuck the 3 IMs in the centre and one winger playing offensively. I took a gamble and went and bought myself a throw away forward for the weekend, who managed 4*s despite only being a solid striker (but he does have a decent secondary!). He wont be thrown away now, I am going to keep him as a reserve player because training keepers gives me so much tactical flexibility.
I could have gone for the CA option when losing midfield, but with only really 3 decent enough defenders, I decided against that option.
I managed to win 2-1 and am now sitting on 22 points after my losing a few key games. Having said that, they victory has guaranteed me a top 4 finish (unless Cobb win their next 2 games by around 24 goals in total!).
Next up is Cobb themselves, with me at home. I am hoping for a record Hatstats for the team this time, maybe around 230? I hope so....

The Hattrick Youth Academy
One of the most exciting times of the week is when you get to do the Youth Pull in Hattrick.
There are 2 different types of pull, one is an instant gratification (known as the old YS) and you get a player with a list of skills, much like this:
Frank Osborne (201196181) 17 years and 96 days, solid form, healthy
A controversial person who is balanced and dishonest.
Has wretched experience and passable leadership abilities.
Speciality: Unpredictable
Next birthday: 01/06/2008
Nationality: England
Total Skill Index (TSI): 400
Wage: 194 £/week
Owner: Boltz Utd
Warnings: 0 Injuries: Healthy
Stamina: passable Goalkeeping: disastrous
Playmaking: poor Passing: weak
Winger: weak Defending: inadequate
Scoring: inadequate Set Pieces: wretched
Personally, I prefer the YA (as previously mentioned) wherein you get an idea of what your players can attain should you train them right.
I am going to call my scouts now, and I will post the results here for all to see, I must say I am feeling pretty optimistic tonight (then again I do most weeks!), but I havent had a decent pull for weeks!
Here goes....
Calling Dickee Williams (thats the scouts name!)
Yes? Oh, hello boltz101!I think I have found a skilled youngster for you. His name is Artagan Hutton (great name!)and he is 17 years old (quite old for a YA player).
Right now I would say his Passing capabilities are around the weak level. His overall abilities right now are weak, in my opinion. If he develops well, I would say this chap can emerge with inadequate Defending before joining the senior squad. Can I offer him a place at the academy?
No, I wont be taking this guy, he isnt really worth much, if he was 15yrs old I might have been tempted, but there is no decent skills, and no speciality mentioned either.
Next.... Hi boss, nice to speak to you again.I have found what seems to be a great prospect for you. He is 15 years old and is called Hugo Waters(even better name!).
Without any further training, this player will remain with inadequate Passing (passing is always a bonus). If he develops well, I would say this chap can emerge with inadequate Winger before joining the senior squad. What do you say? Should we give him a chance?
Yes, we will try him. Unfortuntely, no speciality, but we will try this guy out.

My Hattrick World!
Hello, and welcome to my HT blog!
I have been playing Hattrick for almost 2 years now, and can highly recommend it to anyone. If you don't know what hattrick is, its an online football management game where you control everything about your team (from transfers to player selection to balancing the books) and strive to reach the top. You can find Hattrick at http://www.hattrick.org/.
So, where am I? Well my team is called Boltz Utd, and I use the West Ham colours for my team, and a badge showing my West Ham and Essex background. In Hattrick, a season lasts 16 weeks, or 112 days, so I am now in my 6th season with the club. My history isnt too bad:
05-03-2008 The team was kicked out of the Cup at round 2 season 35
08-02-2008 Boltz Utd finished as number 1 in VI.55 season 34
27-11-2007 The team was kicked out of the Cup at round 4 season 34
19-10-2007 Boltz Utd finished as number 2 in VI.55 season 33
08-08-2007 The team was kicked out of the Cup at round 4 season 33
29-06-2007 Boltz Utd finished as number 8 in V.139 season 32
18-04-2007 The team was kicked out of the Cup at round 4 season 32
09-03-2007 Boltz Utd finished as number 1 in VI.1012 season
31 20-12-2006 The team was kicked out of the Cup at round 3 season 31
17-11-2006 Boltz Utd finished as number 2 in VI.1012 season 30
23-08-2006 The team was kicked out of the Cup at round 2 season 30
28-07-2006 Boltz Utd finished as number 4 in VI.1012 season 29
As you can see I am in my 2nd stint in V. England has VII levels of competition, although I was lucky enough to enter straight in at VI. I have now managed to get myself a competetive V side ( pulling around 210 Hatstats) and am looking to improve on this over the coming seasons.
I also founded the England Youth Academy federation (EYA) back in August 2007 which has now grown to over 300 members and is a great source of info for the England manager with a Youth Academy.
Well, thats all for now, but I will make sure I post here often with my thoughts etc on the games I am playing.
